I'm an avid collector of German stamps. My collection started manys years ago and I worked on them on and off again through out the years. Currently, I'm trying to build my collection in sections.
The first and nearly completed section is the inflationary period, covering stamps from 1919 to 1923.

A couple of stamps from the that period are above. A 2 mark stamp from 1922 and a 100,000 mark stamp from 1922/23. Inflation during this period was very extensive. One day you could mail a letter or buy bread, for a few marks, the next day, you had better bring that wheelbarrow full!
My collection of this period, as I stated, is near complete with the mint unhinged stamps. In Germany, of the past, as well as here in the USA, stamps were hinged into albums. Its getting hard to find stamps that have not been hinged. Of course, to expand on this section of my collection, I will start finding used stamps that have been verified as authentic. I'm also working on the many different variations. Plate flaws, different types, colors, margin (ODP) copies.
Below are links to pages I'm building pertaining to each section. Have patience, these pages are under construction. Also a few additional links that are very useful.
